A young priest was talking with his spiritual director, himself a priest of long standing. The young priest complained that he loved his ministry but that the constant interruptions were a real problem.
“I sit down to write my homily for Sunday and just as I get started, someone calls about the Ladies Altar Society. I want to go over to the school to visit with the children, and someone stops by unannounced wanting to talk. I plan to go visit some of my sick parishioners but find I have two dozen emails waiting for my answer. I can’t focus on my ministry; the interruptions are driving me crazy.”
His spiritual director replied, “Son, those interruptions are your ministry.”
What are the things that interrupt your ministry? What opportunities for service do they offer you?
